We were not so much disappointed as underwhelmed by the experience given the expectations and the price charged.Imagine entering a dark room at which’ center lies a semi demolished car with overhanging bicycles and other random props that appear to be frozen or suspended in time.Īs the lights slowly shine upon the vehicle, you notice several random bodies scattered all around the floor and also hanging out from the windows… It must have been quite the hellish night that these young people have experienced… What could have possibly led them there ? We chose to start with a fresh beet salad with mascarpone raviolis and leek vinaigrette with quail eggs. Both were well presented but rather bland in taste. We followed with a deer filet and duck magret which were slightly overdone and served with a rather minimalist sauce for the deer and a tasty kale -based sauce for the duck.Desert consisted of a pistachio cake which was quite good. The wine list is very short, pricey but we managed to find a good Pinot noir. greeted and promptly seated on a relatively busy week-end evening where we were hoping to enjoy a nice dinner after escaping from the bitter cold.Table service was polite but very slow from beginning to end. We decided to try this restaurant which has recently opened and received very favorable reviews. It is located in the trendy Plateau area on Laurier street and is easily accessible from downtown. The interior is quite sober with an open kitchen against a sitting bar.We were politely. We were sad to see that there were only 2 other tables occupied on a Saturday night….it is time for the hood, and the city to enjoy this restaurant….tell the world! Enjoy!!! More But I am telling you, this is an amazing, amazing, amazing restaurant! Simply superb!Īs I read other reviews, it is well priced for what you get….approx $15 per dish x 7 =$105 for 4 people for the main, which for some may be a lot, but for foodies it is extremely well priced, plus desserts and wines. We had a pate en croute that was so tasty, celeriac with goat cheese and caviar, venison au jus (my mouth is watering thinking of it!), ….we had 7 mains between the 4 of us, sort of our own tasting menu! And then 2 desserts made by the chef’s wife who owns a bakery nearby. and a fantastic variety of tastes and ingredients. The food here is worth sharing and was meticulously prepared. We were not disappointed!! We are foodies, so we are always in search of a new experience. We came to this restaurant after reading about it as a top restaurant.
